Nebula class

 Today was Oracy Day! We introduced lots of new concepts and use our communication skills to help us learn!

 This term in DT our topic is based around manufacturing our own cars. Yesterday we created them!

 Oracy is a large focus in our school at the moment. As a class we are developing our vocabulary but also the way that we interact with others. Our Writing lesson on Friday was centered around oracy and being persuasive! The children had multiple topics to discuss and had 'Talk Tokens' to signify it was their turn to speak. It was fantastic hearing well-thought-out and structured debates around the given topics. At the end of the lesson we tried a new grouping called 'Traverse' where the children get 30 seconds to give their point of view before moving onto the next person.

 Our Writing unit this block is focused on creating our own super secret spy gadgets inspired by the Alex Rider series. Last week, we started developing our gadgets based on normal household items but the children had the opportunity to add extra (top-secret) functions. We are going to continue to learn about persuasive texts this week, so that next week we can create a persuasive advert all around our new gadgets!
